Class Descriptions

  • Class designed for 3 & 4 year olds, in which basic Ballet & Tap position and steps are taught. These tiny dancers will explore different ways to move their body through the use of creative & imaginative play lead by the teacher. This class uses familiar songs, nursery rhymes, and stories to help tap into the dancer’s imagination. In addition, this class will also assist in the further development of cognitive, motor, and social skills.

  • A type of performance dance that originated during the Italian Renaissance in the fifteenth century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology.

  • A performance dance technique and style that emerged in Brazil in the early twentieth century. Jazz dance may refer to vernacular jazz or Broadway or theatrical jazz. Both genres build on the African American vernacular style of dancing that emerged with jazz music.

  • Street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. Hip-hop dance is a broad category that includes a variety of styles danced with high-energy!

  • A type of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal "tap" on the heel and toe.

  • A form of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer wears a special ballet shoes that allows them to support all their body weight on the tips of their toes.

    PRE-REQUISITE: MUST BE 11 YEARS OF AGE, HAVE HAD 2+ YEARS OF CLASSICAL BALLET TRAINING, AND BE SIGNED UP FOR AN ADDITIONAL CLASSICAL BALLET CLASS AT LMDA.

  • Mix of gymnastics and Jazzdance create this exciting dance style full of tricks!

Registration is now open for our 9-month Fall/Winter dance 2024-2025 season! Ballet I, II, and III and Pointe are invite only. Assessments need to be scheduled in order to be placed in one of these high-level ballet classes. All other recreational classes are open for registration until full! Waiting lists will prompt us to open a secondary class when schedule allows. 1 hour classes cost $60 per month. 1.5 hour classes are $90 per month. We have a multi-class discount of $10 monthly for an additional recreational class. (Per student) Monthly tuition will process on the 1st of every month. Sept-May. One-month notice is required to drop any class. Costume fee of $80 per class will process October 1st with October tuition and is non-refundable. Registration Fee is $50 per student due at enrollment. Recital Fee is $50 per student and will process 5/1 with May tuition. Other costs include minor alterations to costumes (They are S,M,L and not custom made to measurements), recital tickets, and specific dance shoes for class and Spring Recital. We reserve the right to cancel classes with less than 5 dancers. Fall classes start September 10th! We proudly offer fundraising opportunities throughout the season, to help offset costs. All proceeds go directly to your dancers’ account.

Creative Movement:

Leotard or short-tard, (No tutu)

Pink Ballet slippers and Tan Mary Jane Tap Shoes (Buckle or velcro. No ties)

Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun

CLASS ATTIRE

BALLET: 

Leotard any color(no tutu), 
Pink Tights, Pink Ballet Shoes 
Hair in a bun

HOP HOP: 

Loose-Fitting athletic 
pants/shorts, tank top or t-shirt, 
sneakers (used only for dance class-with clean sole)
Hair pulled back (pony tail or bun)

TAP & JAZZ: 

Dance wear (any color & form fitting)
Tan Jazz Shoes, 
Tan Mary Jane Tap Shoes
Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun.
